Artist Statement:

All of my life I have had a passion for art.  I see it as a gift from the Divine Artist and must be treasured and used.  I believe I will always be seeking to know more and learn more about design and creativity.   I love to teach art because I want others to experience the joy I do when I draw and paint.  I also learn more when I teach.

Home

When I am drawing and painting, I become a part of a special place where there is no time and I am guided by what I see and feel and by the medium I am using.  I love to paint on location and complete the work in my home art studio.

Watercolor is my favorite medium because it helps me to be more spontaneous and more reactive to how the paint flows on the surface of the paper.  Lately, I am also enjoying transferring Akua Intaglio pigment from acrylic glass to Arches 88 paper in a process called monotype.  By adding my own digitally enhanced photos printed on transparent rice papers as collage elements, I am now able to meld my love of photography, Photoshop, and painting into one artistic process.
